Ground Conditions is a research studio and community for ecological intelligence, driven by the urgent need to redefine how we interact with the ecologies and landscapes in which we live and act.
Our current focus is on the manifestations of climate change, with an impetus for translating research into action. We develop and support projects that respond directly to the landscape conditions emerging from a changing climate, and encourage experimental approaches that sit outside the categories of the norm.

We provide:
Space: shared workspace and events space that supports relationally across disciplines and niche practices.

Program: Think tanks, events, and experiences to bring minds and hands together on shared problems for knowledge exchange

Community: Connect with our network of individuals and partner organisations in the space and our broader planetary network.

Financial support: Subsidised access, research stipends, and an action funding pool to seed or fund projects incubated in our spaces

We particularly support projects and practitioners who's work defies the existing categories that typically organise research; work which bridges the disciplines of technology and politics, science and art, which struggle to position themselves in existing funding and research environments.

As we stand face to face with planetary environmental threats, we proceed with optimism and caution; engaging all the tools at hand, all the unique combinations of thought and action, to find a new way.
